Random springtime fun

Tommy played on his first-ever soccer team this spring. He started off the season like he looks in this photo. He was really trying to do his best. When he's giving it his all, his tongue even gets in on the action.

As the short, six-week season went on, he began to lose some interest. Here, he was trying to play with one eye closed. It didn't really help his game at all.

Tommy thought it was more fun to spin around than to try to get a little ball into a net. After all his years of going to soccer games to cheer on his big brother and sisters, he knows the Number One Rule In Soccer very well: To Have Fun. He never once disobeyed this rule all season - he was having fun the whole time! It might not have benefitted the team all that much, but fun was being had nonetheless.

Here is a fearsome bunch, commonly known as "The Red Team". One huge bonus to being on this awesome team was that Tommy's best buddy, Tyler, was on the team, and it was coached by his dad, Coach Brian. Doesn't get much better than that - especially when you're three (almost 4)!

Easter is a great time to see all of our cousins. Here, the kiddos are having fun with Emma and Aidan. They even got to meet their other new "second" cousin, Jeremy. There was a big crowd for Easter with my mom's side of the family - 25 of us altogether. It was fun!

We also got to celebrate with Steve's family. Here are the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa. They always prepare a fun easter egg hunt for the kids. It sure would be fun to be a kid again!

This was a fun day we had with our friends, the Cohens. The peach picking wasn't so good, but it really didn't matter because we were having a great time with some awesome friends. Our kids love their kids, and we had a great time swimming and hanging out.

Jack decided that he wanted to start riding his bike without any training wheels. And that's all it took. He simply took off riding. Go Jack!

This was a fun night for celebrating Allie. She finished half day kindergarten! She had songs, poems, and bible verses all memorized for her graduation performance. She did great! She seems to know for sure that she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. That would be great! Way to go Allie!

Here's Macy in her Patriotic Performance. She really knew a bunch of complicated songs for this night. This particular song was a rock n roll song, so that is why they all have their collars up. How awesome is that?!?! Great job Macy!

Jack also had a kindergarten celebration night where he performed a bunch of songs and received a certificate from his teacher. He truly loved his teacher this year, and did a great job in school all year. You're awesome Bro!

As I think about all these great experiences and milestones, I am reminded that God is sooooo good. That He would allow us to have such great family, friends, and children is pretty incomprehensible, not to mention the grace and mercy that He grants us each day. Thank you, God, for everything.
