Go Wildcats!!!

Weber WildcatsThe boys and their daddy and grandpa got to go down to Tucson to see their favorite Wildcats in their home opener. They played some football on the mall, ate in the Student Union, and high-fived all the players on the Wildcat Walk. They loved it!

UA vs CalSteve and Jack went down to Arizona Stadium one more time with Adam and Max. They did much the same things as before, and the Wildcats won again! Let's keep the streak alive! Go Wildcats!

Other fun stuff

Visit to the fire stationThe whole Weber family got to tag along on this cub scout tour of a fire station. This is the big one out in Gilbert. It was super nice! Made me kind of want to be a firefighter when I grow up. The firefighters were very patient with the many questions from these 6-year-old cub scouts. It was a great night!

Peter Piper Pizza Pirate
This photo makes me laugh. Tommy must think that he looks like a real tough guy, but he must have forgotten about the cute little apron that he is wearing. I had the opportunity to go on a field trip with Tommy and his preschool class. We went to Petsmart and Peter Piper Pizza. The kids got to see all the animals at Petsmart, and then make their own pizzas at PPP, and then they got a few free tokens - hence the pirate patch prize. Tommy had the best time. And I had tons of fun just spending the time with him.

Another Star Student

Allie's poster
Allie is always a star student, but this particular week, she was chosen to be The Star Student for her kindergarten class. She made this poster to share with her class. I would love to hear what she said as she presented it. You can't see it, but on the page she lists things about herself. She has recently chosen a new favorite color, and she has new plans of what she wants to be when she grows up. She, coincidentally, has the same favorite color as her teacher, and she now wants to be a teacher when she grows up (instead of a veterinarian). I'm totally happy with these new things in her life, and choosing Miss Werden as a role model is a great choice! You're awesome, Allie!

Allie and Super Bear
Allie had a good week with Super Bear. He even came camping with us! He stayed in the van for most of the entire weekend, in hopes that he would stay cleaner than my kids did - and that worked out just fine. He worked on his phonograms with Allie, and he sat and watched us swim. Allie wrote in his journal to chronicle what she and Super Bear did together.

It was a great week of celebrating my Star Student!

Cub Scout Campout

The day after Steve and I returned from Disneyland, we headed off on a cub scout camp out. Most events in cub scouts are for the whole family, so we had to purchase a tent to hold all six of us! We were at a boy scout camp between Flagstaff and Williams. It was great!
Den 2This is Den 2 at the top of a mountain. They hiked a total of 3 miles to get up and down the mountain. This is a huge record for the Weber family - and we all made it the whole way! However, I cannot say that it was easy. It was literally an up-hill battle!

Daddy and Tommy chillinI just like this photo. Two of my boys are just chillin'. Much of the time, the scouts were busy earning belt loops and such, but for a while, we just relaxed. This is one of my favorite things to do!

Allie enjoying some smoresOf course, we had to have smores by the campfire both nights. Delicious as always!

Our first real campoutThis is at the tail end of the campout. Definitely in need of showers. How do kids get so dirty? The good news is that with some good scrubbing, they came clean!

This was a great weekend of exploring the great outdoors as a family and with some great friends. On the second night we had a campfire with the whole pack, and kids volunteered to share jokes, or songs, or skits with the whole crowd. It could have gone on all night, but the leaders kept it from doing so. It was super fun!

The Happiest Place on Earth

Steve, Mickey, and AmySteve and I got the opportunity to sneak away for two days to explore Disneyland on our own. We had a great time! The weather was absolutely perfect. The lines were the shortest ever. And I had uninterrupted time with my honey for two full days!!! It was awesome!

Sillly Symphony SwingsOver in California Adventure, we discovered the Silly Symphony Swings for the first time. We love them!

CA Screamin'You can see the California Screamin' roller coaster going upside down right in the middle of this photo. It was our first time on it, and now it is my favorite roller coaster ever! We rode it 6 times in the two days that we were there.

Without kids, we also got the pleasure of going to sit-down restaurants, watching the flag ceremony, and super-fast, stroller-free mobility. We highly recommend this mode of traveling! Of course, it would not be possible without our wonderful parents. Each set of grandparents had 2 kiddos stay at their house for 3 nights. Got them ready for school, did homework with them, and everything. Thank to both our mom and dads!

Diamondbacks Baseball Game

Dbacks gameMy four kiddos read 30+ books this summer for the library's summer reading program, and as a reward, they received free tickets to a Dback's game. We had good seats in the upper level, but the kids were more interested in going all the way to the top. So here's the family at the top.

Kids at the Dbacks gameWe took an adventure all the way around the ballpark, and we found Uncle J and cousin Eli, along with Chase, Dave and Tom!!! You can see here that the game did not hold the attention of our crew. Tommy and Allie were most interested in gobbling down Uncle J's popcorn.

Randy Johnson BobbleheadWe came across these funny bobble-head guys of former Dbacks players. This is Randy Johnson. He is super tall, so he knelt down for the photo with our kids, but Tommy was still not interested in going up close.

I'm so glad the kids earned these tickets! It was super fun to go to the game!

Really Wonderful Wednesday

Cardinals Preseason GameAs you might already know, we celebrate Wonderful Wednesday at our house. That means that every Wednesday, one kid gets to go out with one parent. That ususally means that they go out for about an hour or a little more for some ice cream or some other treat. But this week, it was Jack's turn to go out with Daddy. And it just so happened that they were given tickets to the Cardinal's preseason game. They were there for the whole game, and Jack loved every minute of it. Right after the game, the players came over and threw some things into the crowd, so Jack got this glove from a player! And the Cardinals totally won! So it made for a great night!
