Happy Easter!

The annual Easter Egg hunt on Raven Drive.

Couldn't be happier.

Just a small gathering of family. So thankful for each of them.

Cousins. They always have fun when they're together.

More cousins. Wish we could see our other two far away cousins too. Thinking of you!

And even more eggs to find.

What a great day! From church to family to family. A day full of celebrating one thing - our Savior is alive! Why on earth God would choose to sacrifice His son to save me from my sins, I will never fully understand, but I'll praise Him everyday as a result. We are so blessed to be surrounded by family who share this same faith. All glory to God.

The new rooms!

Before we had carpet installed in the boys' new bedroom, each of the kids wrote a time capsule on the cement floor. I love what they had to say!

Macy elaborates on all the important current events!

Jack records the most important sports info.

Allie is her precious self.

Tommy makes sure to let us know what he is learning in school.

All moved in!

Built in desks and shelves.

The new bathroom, right next to the boys' new room.

Allie now has a room to herself, so we redecorated the room just to her liking - as much orange as possible.

And she got a new dresser and desk!

In order to redecorate Macy's new room, we had to say goodbye to our favorite superheroes. They've been there watching over us for 9 years!

Jack as Spiderman. The previous owner of the house did an amazing job painting Spidey right there in the corner of the room. Impressive!

Macy sure makes a cute Bat Girl!

And then the room was transformed with lots of green and purple, and One Direction.

We finally had room for her to have a bigger dresser and a desk in her own room too!

We are really enjoying the new space that we have gained. Such a blessing!

What we've been up to...

For a few years now, we have talked about adding on to our house. We've considered every possibility. And this fall, we took the leap.

This is how the front of our house used to look.

Then came the demolition phase. One of the demo guys must have taken a liking to me.

You can see that most all of the landscape is gone, the small front porch and columns are gone, and you can't see that the underground plumbing is in place, and the concrete slab is poured.

The framing is up for a new bedroom, bathroom, and extended porch.

Tile on the roof and ready for stucco.

Drywall taking shape in the living room. No more arched window on that wall.

Texture on the walls in the bedroom.

Stuccoed.

New front door and new paint.

Landscaping done. Whew!

This process appears quite quick and easy when I just take a look at these 10 photos. It was not quick and not easy, but we sure are enjoying the added space. I'll do another post on the completed kids bedrooms and the new bathroom.

Greer in March

We prayed for a snowstorm to hit Greer on the first weekend of our spring break, and God supplied us with an abundance of snow! We even needed to head for Greer a day early so that we wouldn't get stuck driving in the snowstorm. It was worth missing a day of school!

It made for great sledding!

Tommy was even going head first!

Grandma and grandpa with all the grandkids.

Tatum and Allie warming up by the fire.

Grandma and Tommy enjoying some hot chocolate.

More sledding!

Another family snow day!

Jack knew that we wouldn't see snow again for at least 9 months, so he kept sledding on the third day, when the sun was going down the snow was melting away. We had to make him come in from the slope.

More fun in the snow.

We built a super tall snowman over on the Butler Nature Trail.

Macy built a small one with her cousin Tatum. Love the hair!

Tommy and Jack in Flag Football

Both Tommy and Jack had a super winter season playing flag football. They both improved their game and had lots of fun doing it!

Tommy is doing an amazing job of faking the run. It might look like he has the ball, but in fact, he doesn't. That is so cool!

I have no idea what Tommy is doing here. Is this ninja flag football? He must have been trying some distraction technique. Who knows?!?

He is on defense, ready to grab some flags.

Great run, Tommy!

I should send this photo to the Arizona Cardinals scouts when they need a fresh QB. He still hopes to play for them one day.

This is the play that made the crowd cheer like crazy! Jack made the touchdown pass on the 4th down in the 4th quarter to take the lead. Derek, his receiver, pulled a LarryFitzgerald to lean over and get that ball. Teamwork is the key. It was soooo exciting!

Jack had some amazing runs down the field, along with a few jukes to keep it going.

Another run for major yardage.

Tommy's team: the Knights. These guys had a great season, and even got trophies!

Jack's team, the Rangers, at the end of a tough season, this win in their play-off game felt like the super bowl. And it might as well have been - it was more exciting than most super bowls. I might be a bit biased, but there's at least 8 other moms that would agree with me wholeheartedly!

Way to go, Tommy and Jack!!!
