The night started out with a worship night at church. The kids went to Blast Extreme last week, and loved it! Blast Extreme is a super, awesome, cool version of vacation bible school. The worship night was fun for all of us to get to go together!
Then we had to stop and get an Icee because everyone seemed to be thirsty. I'm not sure if my kids had ever had one of these wonderful creations, so they enjoyed it very much!
Then it was off to a new park in our area - Paseo Vista. They had lots of different kinds of things on their playground - it was fun to explore!
My kids LOVE Kokomo! It is an awesome self-serve frozen yogurt place! We arrived there around 9:30pm, and the kids were all surprised to see how busy it was (they had never been there any later than 7:30).
You know you are really cool if you get to swim at 10:00pm! Since it is daylight from about 4am - 8pm, you can bet that our kids don't get to swim in the dark very often. They think it is really awesome if they are swimming with the pool light on - and that we did!
Time to play Wii! Or, it is time to watch your siblings play Wii while sporting a cool clone trooper helmet!
What does any other normal family do at midnight? Our family heads to Taco Bell! Everyone enjoyed a couple tacos for a midnight snack. These kids don't look tired at all!
Our favorite summertime TV show is called Wipeout, so we had it recorded so we could watch it at 1:00am, of course! Shortly into this show, Macy and Mommy decided that we were too tired to stay up - so it was off to bed for us.
Just in case some kids were still not tired, Steve took them around the block on their scooters. It's really nice out at 1:30am! That did the trick for Allie - she crashed after that. I think the three boys played a little bit more Wii, and then Tommy was ready for bed. So Steve told Jack it was time for bed too. He was not happy about having to go to bed at 2:00am, but he was a trooper, and did it anyway. However, he was up and about before 7:00am! All the kids slept pretty well for the next couple nights, so they are getting all caught up. They realize (I think) that they got to do a pretty special thing by staying up that late. They appreciate their "crazy" dad for giving them the opportunity, and for planning fun stuff to do. Steve and I enjoyed just watching them!
Almost every picture I could post about our summer would involve swimming. The first of which is Tommy with his favorite swim teachers, Miss Sarah and Miss Christy. He smiled all the way through swim class for two weeks. And now he is swimming like a little fish. It is fun to see him doing so well with it.
We found the coolest set of Uno cards ever! They are called H2O Uno! The kids love holding their cards under water and looking at them with their goggles on. It is double the fun of playing it on dry land!
My kiddos just love the Dickinson girls! It was fun to hang out and bbq with them!
Zoe loves swimming just as much as the kids. She will cry non-stop if she is not allowed to come swim with us. She is a natural.
Zoe loves jumping off the waterfall too. It is so fun to watch her.
Does this photo have "summer" written all over it, or what? It captures the totally carefree feeling of summer - at least for me it does. We had our good friend, Max, over for a sleepover, and our daughters slept over with Max's sister, Samantha. Sleepovers seem to be magically fun for our kiddos. We all had a great time!
This is Tommy having a good time playing after swim class in the City of Chandler. All four kids loved their 8 sessions of swim class in June, so we will be going again next week at their request. Can't complain about that!
Here's my gorgeous husband with his four great kiddos on Father's Day. They had each made a special card for him, and other goodies too. The day included waffles, church, relaxing in the pool, and duck stew with the Webers. Hopefully, Steve realizes how much he is loved and appreciated. He truly is a great Daddy. I am so thankful for him.
The second most-common theme of our summer is playing the Wii, second to swimming, of course. We are ever-so-kindly babysitting a Wii system for our neighbors who are gone for the summer. We are taking great care of it. There are so many awesome games for it. We are enjoying it thoroughly!
My bouncing baby boy is now FOUR! Here he is at nine months - he does not look much different, but he sure has multiplied in size since then.
When I asked him if he will stay four forever, he said YES! So now I will have a four-year-old forever! I told him that I could just stop feeding him, so he won't grow. Twenty minutes later he was hungry for lunch, so I fed him. I guess my theory won't end up working out.
After much deliberation, Tommy finally decided to have a Toy Story birthday. Thankfully, little plastic characters can make a cake pretty cute.
Birthdays with siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents are wonderful! For some reason, just watching my kiddos blow out candles is precious to me! I just love celebrating them!
Tommy, with the help of his brother, sister and cousins are trying out the new clone trooper helmet and the double-sided light saber that he got for his birthday. We are still totally in our Star Wars phase at our house!
Tommy played on his first-ever soccer team this spring. He started off the season like he looks in this photo. He was really trying to do his best. When he's giving it his all, his tongue even gets in on the action.
As the short, six-week season went on, he began to lose some interest. Here, he was trying to play with one eye closed. It didn't really help his game at all.
Tommy thought it was more fun to spin around than to try to get a little ball into a net. After all his years of going to soccer games to cheer on his big brother and sisters, he knows the Number One Rule In Soccer very well: To Have Fun. He never once disobeyed this rule all season - he was having fun the whole time! It might not have benefitted the team all that much, but fun was being had nonetheless.
Here is a fearsome bunch, commonly known as "The Red Team". One huge bonus to being on this awesome team was that Tommy's best buddy, Tyler, was on the team, and it was coached by his dad, Coach Brian. Doesn't get much better than that - especially when you're three (almost 4)!
Easter is a great time to see all of our cousins. Here, the kiddos are having fun with Emma and Aidan. They even got to meet their other new "second" cousin, Jeremy. There was a big crowd for Easter with my mom's side of the family - 25 of us altogether. It was fun!
We also got to celebrate with Steve's family. Here are the grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa. They always prepare a fun easter egg hunt for the kids. It sure would be fun to be a kid again!
This was a fun day we had with our friends, the Cohens. The peach picking wasn't so good, but it really didn't matter because we were having a great time with some awesome friends. Our kids love their kids, and we had a great time swimming and hanging out.
Jack decided that he wanted to start riding his bike without any training wheels. And that's all it took. He simply took off riding. Go Jack!
This was a fun night for celebrating Allie. She finished half day kindergarten! She had songs, poems, and bible verses all memorized for her graduation performance. She did great! She seems to know for sure that she wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up. That would be great! Way to go Allie!
Here's Macy in her Patriotic Performance. She really knew a bunch of complicated songs for this night. This particular song was a rock n roll song, so that is why they all have their collars up. How awesome is that?!?! Great job Macy!
Jack also had a kindergarten celebration night where he performed a bunch of songs and received a certificate from his teacher. He truly loved his teacher this year, and did a great job in school all year. You're awesome Bro!
