14 Wonderful Years and 24 Priceless Hours

My really awesome husband informed me Tuesday morning that he had plans for our anniversary day. I thought our plans would have been much more like any normal day, but he said that he would be home from work around 11:30am to pick me up and we would escape for 24 hours! We headed up to Scottsdale to stay at a resort, where we just relaxed by the pool and ate lots of good food.

Celebrating 14 great yearsHere we are after a wonderful dinner at Ruth's Chris. We got to enjoy delicious steak that we've heard others rave about - and they were right - its good!

Escape to the HyattHere is the view from our hotel room. It was absolutely awesome!

Thank you, Honey, for 24 priceless hours and, even better, for 14 wonderful years. God could not have chosen a more perfect man for me. You are my best friend and I am so blessed to get to spend every day with you. I love you!

PS And thank you, also, to Grandma and Grandpa for watching all four kids, with school pick-up, homework, tumbling, and school drop-off too! You guys are amazing!

First Day of School

First Day of SchoolMacy, Jack and Allie started school on Monday! Macy is in 3rd grade, Jack is in 1st, and Allie is in Kinder. All three go to the same school - they love that! I know that I am just a tad bit biased, but I would say they look great in uniforms!

Tommy at McDsSo what do you think Tommy and I should do after we drop off the big kids to school? We headed over to McDonald's for an ice cream sundae bright and early in the morning. It was great! We had actually been putting off our Wonderful Wednesday time that we had missed the previous Wednesday, but we knew we have time for the two of us when Monday morning rolled around. (Wonderful Wednesday is a weekly celebration in our household, where one parent gets to go out with one kid on Wednesday evenings. And this past week it was mine and Tommy's turn!) So we enjoyed talking together, sharing a sundae, and then Tommy tackled the play center. It was a great way to kick off the school year.

Twinkie traditionIf you've been following this blog for a year or more, you would most likely expect to see a photo of my kids eating Twinkies in this very post. And I do not disappoint! The Weber tradition is to partake of Twinkies on the first day, after the kids get home from school. They were looking forward to these for the past couple weeks. However, I did learn that there is one Weber who would actually choose to pass up on the Twinkie. Can you believe it?!?

Great girlI just had to include this photo of my big girl. She really paves the way for all her little brothers and sister. She had homework, even on the first day! I'm just really proud of her, and want her to know that I love her and appreciate her so so much!

Way to go kids! It was a great day!

The Stuber Campground for the 4th!

Our friends, Lance and Tambra, invited the whole home group to come up and camp by their cabin for the weekend. Five families were able to come. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the friendships are priceless! The kids loved to play with all the other kids. We rode quads, had light saber battles, water fights, water balloon launching competitions, card games, 2 field trips, and a great day at the park in Payson.

Riding the quadJack and Corbin on a quad.

Strawberry School HouseField trip #1. We took a walk to the oldest standing school house in Arizona. The Strawberry School opened in 1885.

Nine of the kiddosThe Berger, Stuber, and Weber kiddos.

Launching water balloonsIt was an intense battle (well, not really) between the water balloon launching teams. We hit our target at least 3 times!

Fossil Creek CreameryWe took another field trip to the Fossil Creek Creamery, where we got to see the goats and llamas. Notice how one of my little "kids" has to try out the goat playground.

Going on a tractor rideIt sure is fun to be in a tractor parade around the camp.

Almost the whole gangThis is the great group of people that we got to spend our weekend with, except the photo is missing Sarita and Ellie because they were sleeping. Thank you to the Bergers, Brittains, Stubers and Stubers for good fun and great company!

Running racesWhat should a group of 16 kids do while waiting for the fireworks show? Race each other, of course! We met up with the Dickinsons and Kellers at the park in Payson. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time spending it with friends.

GlowsticksKids LOVE glowsticks. We had lots of them (both kids and glowsticks!).

Awesome fireworksThe fireworks were awesome!

Drive homeThe drive home was nice and quiet! It was great to drive these tired kids home and tuck them into their own beds. And then we still had an extra day with Daddy to hang out and play. It was an awesome weekend!

Finally - I'm updating the blog!

Thanks for stopping by to see if the Webers are still out here in cyberspace! We're here! And I'm finally catching up on my blog posts. The following 6 posts are all being posted today - even if they have dates on them from April, May, and June. The first one that I'm posting today is called Steve's Sabbatical, from April 27th, so it might make sense to scroll down to that post and work your way up, but only if you are desperate for reading material - it might take an hour to work your way all the way through it. I pray that you are all doing well and having a great summer!
