This post includes a random group of events that occured in August. Good times!

Oddly enough, we've had some rain here. Through the first 7 months of 2014, we had less than and inch-and-a-half of rain. Then a few monsoons in August brought us another .7 of an inch. And September brought us the 1000-year flood of 2014. Chandler got 5.6 inches of rain in a span of about 6 hours. Some schools were canceled for the day because of flooded roads or classrooms. Our kids' schools were still open, but attendance was declared "optional".

These photos were taken during the monsoons in August. Since our kids had barely seen any rain in 7 months, they go crazy when it starts to rain. It just makes you want to dance, or play basketball, or lay in the gutter!

We headed down to Tucson for the annual Meet the Team night. The kids got players to sign their posters and a football. Trey Griffey even signed Tommy's #5 jersey. (Trey Griffey is the son of Ken Griffey Jr., a major league baseball player. And he is #5!).

Praticing our touchdown passes. Being down on the field is pretty cool!

That's my boy!

We went to the Phoenix Rock Gym. Macy is a great climber! She made it to the top of a bunch of the walls in this place!

Grandma was awesome to come help "belay" (hold the rope) our climbers. Grandpa too!

The McInturfs are experienced climbers. It was fun to go with them!

Grandpa and Jack just hanging out.

We brought a Party Pac of Eegees back with us from Tucson. We enjoyed them in the pool.

Zoe did what just comes naturally to her - she got a bird in our backyard.
