My big girl, Macy Kate, just might make an awesome art teacher some day. She comes up with very original craft ideas, and creates them! She is super creative!!! On this particular night, she led the whole family in a craft project. My girl is awesome!
These are some of Macy's creations. They are personalized placemats for each family member. There's just one missing in the photo because something spilled on it before we got the chance to photograph it. I totally love how my placemat has me laying in an avacado in a hammock saying "Ahhh!"
This is Allie when she was Hero Of The Day. (Maybe I'll have to do another post about the Hero Of The Day program in our household.) She chose to take the family out to some frozen yogurt, at one of our new favorite places - Yo Love. Self serve frozen yogurt places bring so much joy to our family, and this one is only a mile away! We had a great time celebrating our Hero with some great fro yo.
Another little known italian restaurant also opened up only a mile from our house. I really shouldn't tell you what it is, because then the wait time will be longer when you all go there, so I'll just keep it a secret. I'll just say that my family was so excited when it opened that we had to be there on opening day. Love it!
This lemonade stand raised $116 for Global Water Outreach, to help fund a well to be dug in a community where they have no safe drinking water. Along with friends from our homegroup, we picked the lemons, juiced them, mixed up the lemonade, and sold it. There were three good reasons that we did all this. First, was because this is a great cause being led by some men at our church. Second, was because it gave our family a chance to put others needs before our own. And third, was because it was lots of fun! Along with the other lemonade stands being run by a couple different homegroups, we came close to raising $1,000. Thanks, God, for making that happen!
